Union City exempts gas stations from tobacco ordinance

The City Council has overruled the Planning Commission and voted unanimously to exempt gas stations from an ordinance that prohibits the sale of tobacco products near youth-oriented establishments, citing concerns about driving one local station owner out of business and returning crime to the area.
